General Meeting
Welcome & Presidents Report: Review activities, see executive if you have any questions.
Reports:
Treasurer’s report: Claude announced the club had a balance of $1894.05 in the general account as of the end of February 2008.
V.P report. Mike reminded everyone who signed up for Crevice Rescue training that it will be on Wednesday evening March 12/08 out at Mike’s place. @ 7pm & will be a refresher course.
. Announced Bow Hut Trip on Easter weekend ( March 21-23, 2008). 3 spots available.
Newsletter Editor: Brian needs new trip reports to him prior to March 24/08 as he would like the newsletter out by March 31/08 with a reminder regarding the food list for the AGM. Anything he gets in late will go in the fall newsletter. Email any info/reports/pics to Brian
Social Committee: Steve present – nothing to report at this time.
Day Trip Chairman: John – (absent) No day trips to announce at this time.
Web Master: Nothing to report at this time.
Mountain Tour Chairman: (absent)
Publicity: Nothing to report at this time.
Old Business
- Annual General Meeting – Tuesday, April 8/08 at Bower Community Hall-Potluck supper – bring- a-f dessert, g-r main course, s-z salad. Don passed around sign up sheet so the phone committee wouldn’t have to phone those that were there.
- Meeting Room – As a result of feedback from the general membership it was decided to continue our booking of the Kerry Wood Nature Center for club meetings.
- Club Executive -:
- President: Mike Spencer moves into this position from VP – also open for nominations.
Vice President: open for nominations
Secretary: Peggy agrees to complete her second year
Treasurer: Claude agrees to continue in this position
Newsletter: Brian agreed to complete the second year of a two year term having taken over from Terry mid-way through 2007-08
Social: Steve & Sandy in second year of two year term
Publicity: open for nominations.
Day Trips and Lessons: open for nominations
Mountain Tour Chairman: Steve Irwin has let his name stand for this position.
Past President: Don Wales
According to our constitution we will be asking for further nominations from the floor at the Annual General Meeting in April. Please feel free to nominate someone or yourself for any of the open positions including Vice President (doesn’t necessarily have to become President but it would be nice) Treasurer, Publicity (good entry level position), Day Trips and lessons (also good entry level position) and Mountain tour Chairman. All positions are two year terms.
4. Donation of $100.00 made to the Canadian Avalanche Association from the Mountain Tour Fund.
New Business
1. Executive and Tour Leaders appreciation weekend to be held on April 18- 19/08 out at Steve & Sandy’s place in Canmore. Contact Steve and Jane Davies or Steve Irwin for more information.
