Reports:
Treasurer’s report: Claude announced the club had a balance of $1377.00 in the general account, paid out $186.00 for insurance for the Heritage Ranch snowmobile but this will be reimbursed.
V.P report. Mike explained club procedure for trips & had sign up sheets prepared for upcoming courses. Courses will run if enough interest is shown, dates to be determined. For further information on any of these courses please contact Mike Spencer. Basic GPS scheduled for Jan. 17 & 24/08. Snow shelters course –tabled need more snow.Announced Bow Hut Trip addition to the trip schedule on Easter weekend ( March 21-23, 2008). Another trip to Mt. Asiniboine (10 people max) $145.00 for flight in, minimum 3 nights @ $20.00/night & $145.00 flight out will also be added to the schedule. (between Feb 15 and Feb 18, 2008)

Social Committee: Steve & Sandy present – Don will work with Sandy on the loppet. Sandy thanked everyone that brought snacks for the meetings.
Day Trip Chairman: John – No day trips to announce at this time. Anyone interested in leading a day trip, please contact John. Registration for Ski Lessons are available through The City of Red Deer or online at Look N Book at a cost of $40.00.
Web Master: Dick – nothing to report.
Mountain Tour Chairman: Steve has also booked Elizabeth Parker Hut for Dec. 5 & 6/08 contact Steve Irwin will send out email to see who is interested.
Old Business
- Approval of Mountain tour schedule at last club executive meeting.
- Application for funding for the satellite phone from Dow Chemical was submitted. We have received $500.00.
- Temporary Signage on City Ski Trails is up. Any feedback on maps/signs contact Don
- T-Shirts- Barb collected last of the funds tonight & will be placing order right away. Hope to have shirts back for next meeting if possible.
New Business
1. Ski Conditions – Heritage to Bower Ponds ready to ski (rough in places), Jarvis Bay Campground Trails ready to ski.
2. Loppet – Feb. 2/08, (8:30-3pm) Don & Dick looking after the arrangements. Need volunteers to help with food & work other areas. Sign up sheet was passed around. Distributed posters for people to place around Red Deer & area.
3. Motion: to authorize the expenditure of $444.09 U.S. for Adobe Software for Dick Pawloff to allow him to update the club web site. Made by Pat Gleason & 2nd by Mike Spencer, All in favor. Passed
4. Phone Committee – we need to set up phone committee to solicit volunteers for the loppet & make arrangements for the year end pot-luck supper in April- Mike, Marie, Marilyn and Sandy volunteered to help out with phone committee
5. Birki promo –55 km or 36km, cost $50.00 to $70.00 contact Don for further info.
