Reports:

         Past President’s Report:  Don thanked members for volunteering for the loppet but it is again cancelled this year due to poor track conditions.  This is the 4th year out of 5 that it has been cancelled.  Mike thanked Don for his efforts to get the loppet going & reminded members that Don is stepping down from organizing the loppet so if anyone else is interested in taking over Don would be more than willing to help out so if you or someone you know is interested please contact Don.

            Treasurer’s report:  Dick posted info on the wall for anyone interested in seeing what was happening financially with the club. Balance in general account -$2613.25, Loppet account-1426.23, Parkland XC Ski club-$5,108.48  

            V.P report.  Vance - Crevasse Self Rescue trng. Scheduled for Feb.18th & 25th at Mike’s place – only 3 people signed up so far. If you are interested you can still sign up, contact Vance.

            Newsletter Editor:  Brian Davies – only change is all newsletters that are printed will now be in black & white only as the cost for color & the extra time is too costly & anyone wishing to view newsletter in color can check out our website.  Corrected phone info so Mike’s correct no. is listed. Trip reports have been coming in good.

            Publicity:  Richard – notice in press – good, no problem.

            Social Committee:  Sandy thanked Candace for bringing snacks.  AGM  is booked for Tuesday April 14/09 from 6pm to 9pm.  Will be sending out an email to let everyone know who brings what.

            Day Trip Chairman:  Linda is working on a schedule if anyone is interested in leading a day trip please contact Linda.  Mike did day trip on Jan. 31/09. Feb 16/09 Brian & Carol will be leading a day trip in Innisfail-contact them for further info if you are interested in attending.  Pat mentioned Raven Trails are icy but there are some nice spots.  Nice trails over by Dixon pond & Spruce View School.

            Web Master:  Dick – All current info on Loppet cancellation & newsletter on website.

Mountain Tour Chairman:  Steve: All trips have gone well this year. Next 3 trips are full. Burstall Pass-has waiting room-contact Karen. Jenny’s family trip to Castle Mtn. still has openings-Contact Jenny or John to book.

• New Business
• Moved by Steve Irwin that the club subsidize 50% for up to 15 members ($45.00)ea with funds coming out of the mountain tour fund. 2nd by Don Wales. All in favor.
• Loppet- cancelled, due to poor snow and warm weather.  Don Wales has done a great job of organizing the loppet for a few years & its time for someone else to take the job over. Please contact Don or Mike if you are interested.
• Reminder to executive to review the policy manual as it pertains to your position & pass your comments on to Dick before the next exec meeting.
• Nominations for the exec for next year.  Any member can be nominated for any position.  Secretary & Social Director are at the end of their 2 year term.
• New sports shop in Red Deer “Wipe Out Ski & Bike” will stock tele equipment.  Would like to work with our club so have offered to cover the cost of having Chic Scott speak at our March general meeting.

• Next Executive meeting will be at Mike & Barb’s @ 7:30pm on Feb. 24/09.
