  • Newsletter Editor  ( Brian)   A call for trip reports and a deadline of Dec 22, 2008 for the next newsletter

 

  • Social Report (Sandy)  Thanks to those who have been donating to the meeting snacks and to Frank who has been eating most of them. (I made the last bit up but it is true)

 

  • Mountain Tour Report  (Steve)  Steve advertised the upcoming ski trips mentioning that there was room on the Molar Meadows trip next weekend and the Chester Lake tour the following weekend. The Elk Lakes trip is full but with a waiting list. He also reviewed the Lake O’Hara trip held last weekend.

 

 

  • Day tour/ Lessons Report.  Linda said there were no day tours booked as yet due to lack of snow. Trips will be announced when they become available.  It was recommended that ski club tourers consider taking the ski lessons to improve their touring skiing.

 

  • Publicity

 

New Business

  • Grant application for tracksetting snowmobile for River Bend  (Don)

 

  • Parkland Ski Club Track Setting and Equipment/ Trail Maintenance Agreement with River Bend and with the City (copies posted on wall and comments welcomed)  (Don)   A description of two agreements we have with the City regarding City wide track setting.  There was also a call for volunteers to set track or help move snow.  More later.

 

  • First Aid Course   (Brian)  Brian said he is still working on finding a few nights to run a first aid course in the New Year

 

  • Lorna Townell mentioned that the 55+ Winter Games are looking for skiers to represent Zone 4 between Feb 18-20, 2009  Contact Ruby Meunier for more information at 343-1058
