  • Discussed Riverbend Society-problems, should withdraw our name from contract & leave between the City & Riverbend Society.  Steve will check with Riverbend Society before we withdraw. Don is revising the agreement as well.
  • Treasurer:

  • Associate Accnts:  Biathlon - $57.76/Biathlon GIC $1000.00/Jr. Jackrabbits $857.34/Sr. Jackrabbits 0 balance total assets:  $7095.91
  • Dick sends membership list to Brian & he forwards to all.
  • Membership – 204 registered-103 Parkland Cross Country/76 Jackrabbit/25 Nordic
  • Cross Country Alberta hasn’t cashed any of our cheques
  • Received $500.00 ck from Dow to be
  • Dick will put notice up on website that the loppet is canceled.

 

  • Vice President:   Vance absent
  • Newsletter:  Brian has a couple of trip reports, will keep pics short to get more text in.

 

  • Web Site:  Don discussed web site, there was a day tour listed but it was from last year. Should have firm info/confirmation to Dick asap.

           

  • Publicity Richard absent – will put notice out to media re Mike’s presentation for Feb General meeting will be on Nepal.
  • New ski shop opened up “Wipe Out Ski & Bike” owned by Kim Wright – interested in doing a presentation with Chic Scott in March
  • Social:  Sandy has a gift certificate she will return & send thank you letter for the offer.
  • Sandy will book April 14/09 for AGM

 

  • Mountain Tour:   Steve – Bank Stmt. Balance to Nov. 30/08 $3700.00,
  • We’ve made money on every tour so far this year.
  • s/b over $6000.00 by the end of the year.
  • $1142.40 additional funds to be added in to total as there were 2 bank accounts set up originally & we’ll combine the two.
  • Add to new business for general meeting. Re using extra money to pay for tour leader 1st aid.???
  • Need 15 days cancellation notice for all trips
  • Day Tour/Lessons:  Linda- 24 people signed up for ski lessons & 22 showed up.
  • Day tour – Jarvis Bay –Mike – Jan. 31/09
  • Linda will be away next month.
  • Brian & Carol will run a day trip on Feb 16, 2009 in Innisfail-meet at their place-call Brian in advance.
  • Linda would like to find people to lead day tours-wondered if we could try & get some to take tour leaders course.
  • New Business:
  • Steve motioned waiver for non members should be adapted, 2nd Brian. All in favor.  Should be sent to Cross Country Alberta. Linda & Mike to give waiver to treasurer to archive.
  • Do we want to take funds out of the mountain tour funds for 1st Aid??  Subsidize any members with priority being tour leaders.
  • Steve motioned we subsidize 50% for up to 15 members ($45.00) with funds coming out of  the mountain tour funds. Don 2nd, all in favor. To be motioned at next general meeting. First aid will be scheduled for  Thursday Feb. 5, 12, 19 & 26th.
  • Can we change the $ listing on the tour to include float.
  • Linda motioned we purchase a $50.00 membership in trail net, 2nd by Sandy, all in favor.

 

  • Old Business:
  • Loppet is cancelled due to lack of snow. Dick will post on website., volunteers will be notified by phone as well. Would a different location work in the future???
  • Review policy manual-needs to be updated. Exec will review appropriate section & bring suggestions to next executive meeting and send updates/changes to Dick.
