President
Pat distributed the agenda and reviewed mail info available on Lake Louise Loppit and Diversity workshop
Vice President:
Don reported that Mike Carley is willing to do a PEEPS course and will confirm a date and announce at the next general meeting. Don is also interested in running a snow shelter course.
Treasurer
Jenni reported that we have approx. $500.00 in our general account and $1154.00 in the Loppit fund.
Newsletter Editor: Absent
Mountain Tours
Mike reported that the Alpine Club is now taking a 20% non-refundable deposit. This cost will have to be spread over all attendees.
Mike also reported that the club was unable to rent SAT phone for the Fryatt Hut trip and that raises safety concerns. Discussion was held re: purchasing a phone. Mike will discuss with the Central Alberta hikers to find out whether they would be interested in sharing the cost.
The Tour Leader/Exec ski weekend will be held April 7-9 at Saskatchewan Crossing. Mike will rent hotel rooms.
Publicity:
Dale circulated articles that have been printed in the paper. He continues to advertise club events at Valhalla.
Social Directors
Carol has booked Bower Kin Hall for AGM on April 11.
Day Tours/Lessons:
Carol will contact Pam to discuss.

OLD BUSINESS:
1. Negotiations with City of Red Deer: Pat and Don will meet with Jerry Tennant to discuss the city taking over trail setting. Don will also forward a copy of the proposal to Greg Scott.

March General Meeting Agenda
Don will present a slide show.
Snowmobile
Once we have the sled, the club will need to arrange for publicity. The sled will be stored and maintained by City. We understand that the city will also cover insurance.
Loppet
Discussion held re: relocating Loppet to Gull or Sylvan Lake or the river rather than cancel in the event of lack of snow. Members agreed to keep it as is for now but perhaps consider a shift in date to early March. To be discussed further next year.
Next Years Exec
Discussion held re: current executive member status and positions that will need to be filled at AGM. Executive members were encouraged to approach people personally re: taking on an executive position.
Mike will approach Jim G. re: throwing pottery cups for exec members that are leaving/changing positions.
Tour Leader Course
Brian has ordered 6 manuals @ $10.00 each.
CCA AGM
The CCA AGM will be held May 13 in Canmore. Brian and Pat will develop a 30 minute presentation on Tour Leading to present at the meeting. Club will fund travel to attend the meeting.
